New Life for Your Clothes
What Can You Expect?
Would you like to help combat the throwaway culture that threatens our planet and focus on sustainable design? Do you want to learn how to redesign your old clothes without any waste and see and think about them in new and different ways?
In a redesign course, you can learn to sew, redesign, and reconstruct old clothes and much more. In the class, you will go through the entire design process, and we will create what you want. We will experiment with upcycling and redesigning into new clothing forms and make fine handmade products.
Lærke will give a short presentation on redesign and upcycling of recycled materials, as well as present her own design work (regular redesign, zero-waste redesign, [fabric manipulation library] (dyeing, embroidery, quilting, patchwork, reprint, etc.) as inspiration to think differently. We will explore the use, expression, association, color, details, value, shape, potential, and fabric type of clothes, as well as try out different fabric manipulations such as appliqué, embroidery, and quilting.
Everyone can join, even those with no sewing experience.
